# 2. Getting Started

## 2.1 Create your account

1. Open the app and click Sign Up.
2. Enter your name, email and a strong password.
3. Check your inbox and click the confirmation link.

Sign in with your email and password.

> **TIP:** If your company already uses Likemind Root, ask your admin to invite you so you join the right organization.

## 2.2 Sign in

Go to the login page, enter your email and password, and click Sign In. Use Forgot Password if you cannot remember it.

## 2.3 The two views: Desktop and Mobile

The app changes its layout based on your device:

* Desktop view: Full features. Use this for investigations, dashboards, settings and reports.
* Mobile view: A focused, simple version for the field. You can sign in, see your cases, open a new case, fill in the basic details and take photos with your phone camera.

> **NOTE:** On mobile, profile editing is read-only. Use a computer to update profile or organization settings.
