8. CAPA Actions
8.1 Creating Actions
From the Investigation Workspace or Incident Detail:- Click “Add” in the Action pane
- Fill in:
- Title (required)
- Description
- Priority (Hierarchy of Controls)
- Due Date
- Click “Create Action”
8.2 Priority Hierarchy (Hierarchy of Controls)
Actions are prioritized according to the Hierarchy of Controls, from most to least effective:| Priority | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Elimination | Physically remove the hazard | Remove a toxic chemical from the process |
| Substitution | Replace with less hazardous alternative | Use a safer solvent |
| Engineering Controls | Isolate people from the hazard | Install machine guards |
| Administrative Controls | Change procedures or policies | Update SOPs, add training |
| PPE | Personal Protective Equipment | Provide safety glasses |
8.3 Status Workflow
- Open: Newly created, not yet started
- In Progress: Work underway
- Pending Verification: Action completed, awaiting review
- Closed: Verified and closed
8.4 AI-Suggested Actions
- Build your analysis in the Logic Canvas
- Mark one or more nodes as root causes
- In the Action pane, click “Suggest”
- Select which analysis frameworks to include
- Click “Generate CAPA”
- AI produces recommended actions with priorities and timeframes
- Review and select which actions to add
8.5 Verification Evidence
When closing a CAPA action, upload verification evidence:- Photos or documents proving the action was completed
- Supports evidence types: before/after photos, updated procedures, training records
